Welcome to Toby Edmonds profile Page
Warwick Farm based trainer Toby Edmonds has been surrounded by horses for as long as he can remember. By his early teens, Edmonds knew that his future lay with horses and the following years were spent learning his trade from Neville Begg and Peter Snowden when he was a Scone based trainer.
Edmonds kicked off his training career back in 1988 with a small team of six. His first good horse was a colt called Bay Splendid, owned by long time stable client Ray Gall. Bay Splendid won 11 races including a smashing 1.08.9 at Doomben. That made people sit up and take notice sending the galloper out as favourite in the Ramornie at his following start. In 1991 he also won the then prestigious Moree Sires with Troyvic beating a subsequent Ascot Vale Stakes winner in the process running a course record time. Other feature wins include the 1993 P J Bell Plate at Randwick with Northern Star and also the Muswellbrook Cup with Pine Prince.
In 1994, Edmonds moved to the Gold Coast where he trained multiple city and provincial winners including a Listed Rockhampton Cup, two MacKay Cups, a Townsville Cup and an Atherton Cup.
Edmonds then took up an offer to train privately for Pedrille Thoroughbreds in 2000 before moving out on his own in 2003.
Currently in the stable are city winners Hipster Doofus and Prince Of Midnight city placegetter Limani along with the promising Centover unraced Asyoucando,Zelensky and Cassata, so watch our stable in the coming weeks and months
Edmonds is a hands on trainer with a genuine and contagious passion for his sport. Owners enjoy unrestricted access to Edmonds who makes himself available at all times to answer their questions and keep them in touch with the progress and plans of their pride and joy. He also has a keen eye for yearlings and is willing to accompany a potential owner to the sales ring or purchase on a client's behalf.
Toby Edmonds is by no means the biggest trainer in the game, but his accessibility, affable nature and hands on approach, ensures that his owners' racing experience is a successful and enjoyable one.
